I preordered the game a while ago, and have the pre ordered game installed on my xbox, but i don’t know what code that the guide on how to install the beta is. I never got a code, so i don’t know what to do.

If it was the Xbox Store/this website you can install the game without redeeming the code. Skip to the new players' section of the guide for more information.
@wooden-spoon614 Depends on where you pre-ordered it.
If you pre-ordered it first-party (via XBox store), it should show up in your 'Apps & Games' in the 'Ready to Install' tab.
If you ordered it 3rd-party (Amazon, etc), you should have gotten a code for the Black Dog Pack (and once you redeem that, it will appear in the above section). If you never got the Black Dog Pack code, check your email (incl spam folder), and if not there, contact whoever you bought it from. Amazon's usually pretty good with resolving these types of things if that's who you got it from.@roughmonkey0 Have you tried following the steps in the guide below?

@musicmee but that says you have to have a 25 character code how would I go about getting this code if pre ordered from the marketplace
@void-presence  right when i preordered it i installed the game, but it doesn’t say closed beta. will it open up as a closed beta tomorrow?

Well, you only have one step if you bought it from the Xbox store. It says it will appear... well it is there, but it only installs a small 40-60mb install and not the full game.
@cursingmushroom Ahhh you can skip that part then matey...
PC:
- Open up the Store app
- Go to 'My library' available from the drop down at the top right hand corner.
- Select 'Sea of Thieves Closed Beta' (Game not appearing?)
- Select 'Install'
Xbox:
- You will see the 'Sea of Thieves Closed Beta' Game in the 'My Games and Apps' section on the Xbox Console ready for install. Select it to begin the install process.
@wooden-spoon614 mine didn't either, some games won't label themselves as such, it's just 'closed beta' because it's not available to everyone and it's not the finished product :)
@musicmee no sir only shows that I have pre ordered sea of thieves no actual sea of thieves beta here. The only thing it shows is when I select the image and go to manage game it says there is a file downloaded of 96.8mb and that just doesn't seem right to be fair not trying to be a pain just want to be able to play with everyone else tomorrow
If u have pre ordered on Xbox it will install a small sea of thieves install along with the dog pack automatically, there after another install should appear in "ready to install" called sea of thieves closed Beta a separate install. Try restarting your Xbox and 're checking the "ready to install."
This is on Xbox.

@musicmee The link that you have under PC on your repy? Im using my pc for the forum but I want the game on my xbox and when I do click that link all it shows is that Sea of Thieves Closed Beta is currently not available no download option on PC. From Microsoft Store
